Michelle Carter, MA, LMHC, NCC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
It can be hard to find the strength to engage with therapy, while taking the first step towards facing the fears, the sadness, the pain, and other mental concerns that you struggle with. It is hard to be willing to open up to a stranger whom you are unsure if they can truly help you when you are feeling so alone and lost with what you are experiencing.
I utilize an eclectic therapy approach that is tailored to your specific treatment needs, which we collaborate on together, including the therapy modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and concepts from Dialectic Behavioral Therapy in finding the coping strategies that will work best for you and your needs.
I work hard with you to make the therapy space everything you need it to be, to feel heard, safe, and feel that you can succeed in taking steps forward in working on your healing journey at the pace you set for the sessions. The hope is that we can help you to feel in control of your life again and move forward with a stronger sense of how to cope with life’s challenges in a healthy way that works for you.
